Hello and welcome to The Phantom Piper web-site.
I am passionate about my music, it comes from my soul and I believe it is my true vocation. from the age of 8 I have been playing bagpipes and at the age of 18 I was experimenting with different ways and sounds of the bagpipes, then at 21 I broke away from the "traditional bagpiper" ways.
From my early piping days I played in the traditional pipe bands such as the, "Inverkeithing High School Pipe Band", "The City of Edinburgh Pipe Band" and "The Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing Pipe Band", "Torrevieja Pipes And Drums" (which was based in Spain). Then having fire in my belly I needed to see what was out there and then The Phantom Piper was born. I have played with big bands such as the famous "Saor Patrol" and sharing stages with "The Red Hot Chilli Pipers", "The Dropkick murphy's", "The Wicked Tinkers", "Seven Nations", "Sweet", Corvus Corax, "Barely Juice", "Albannach", "Screaming Orphans" and "Tempest", so far.
I have luckily achieved a #2 on the rock charts and have gain a video reward for best music video. My Dark Island video on Youtube is sitting at over half a Million views! That is all thanks to my fantastic fans!
I am currently Playing with the big band "celtica -Pipes Rock" and have been since spring 2013.
With an explosive Show and our unique sound of blazing bagpipes, mighty drums and the power of a rock band, CELTICA takes by storm all audiences from Highland Games and town festivals, to bankers and punk rockers. In addition to their high-energy music and fire juggling, flamethrowers on their instruments guarantee an exciting show: an event that‘s sure to please all the senses!
From Europe‘s Best-Kept-Secret to International Headliner Act
Professionalism and total commitment at every performance are the band´s key to success: Right away CELTICA got booked as headliner of the biggest Celtic/Scottish/Rock events in Europe, Canada and the USA.
My first album ‘Shores o’ the Forth’ I proudly dedicated to my late dad when his health was failing him; and to all my family who have been a constant source of encouragement with never failing confidence in my ability. I produced my second album ‘Bend It Like Jane’ with the help of Shantyshack Recording Studios.
That album was really well received in Australia where I felt honoured to perform at the Highland Gathering as part of the Adelaide Music Festival and be interviewed on Ethnic Radio, a multicultural station in South Australia.
I have been so lucky to have had received opportunities to play at concerts and festivals and headlining loads, all over the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. Also featuring in the newspapers, television, radio. Playing in front of audiences as large as 60,000 people.
I am also now involved in a charity Tierheim Hoffnung & Liebe. I am very passionate about this and I am donating £1 on every cd or merchandise I sell. I tell you a little bit about about the charity....
Corrupt politicians receive enormous amounts of local and European taxes a year for trapping and killing of stray dogs. Those dogs shall be euthanized in a humane way in public animal shelters, but the reality is different!!!
